Bryan
C. McPhadden was called to the Bar in 1988. His
practice is restricted to commercial litigation, including
injunctions, contract disputes, wrongful dismissal,
shareholders' disputes, directors' liability, insolvency,
real estate litigation, estate litigation and class actions. |

|
Bryan has conducted
litigation successfully in The Ontario Superior Court of Justice,
the
Federal Court of Canada, the Federal Court of Appeal and the
Supreme Court of Canada. |

Zoran
Samac graduated from Osgoode Hall Law School in 1986 and
was called to the Ontario Bar in 1988. Zoran completed his articles of clerkship with and, subsequent to
his call to the bar, was a lawyer with Sneath,
Wilkins. Zoran's
practice focuses on medical malpractice, personal injury,
and insurance litigation. He has prosecuted and
defended numerous medical malpractice cases. |

Zoran has successfully taken medical malpractice, injury,
and insurance case to trial in the Ontario Superior Court of
justice. He has successfully appeared in the Ontario
Court of Appeal and the Federal Court of Appeal. |

David
G. Merner graduated from Osgoode Hall Law School in 1978
and was called to the bar of Ontario in 1980.
David’s practice has focused on civil litigation in
the area of torts and commercial litigation allowing him to
act for both plaintiffs and defendants. He has been active in insurance defence litigation,
including professional errors and omissions, commercial
risks, policy interpretations, motor vehicle, products
liability, transportation law, environmental claims,
occupiers liability and school board liability. |

Mr.
Merner has appeared as counsel before all levels of the
Court in Ontario and has authoured various legal
publications on contract and employer liability.
His successful representation of Canada’s largest
passenger railway system along with various insurers and
provincial government ministries compliment his existing
client portfolio. |

Calvin
Barry was called to the Bar of Ontario in 1988 after
graduating with an LLB from Osgoode Hall Law School.
He
articled with
a well known Bay Street law firm
and worked as a Highway Traffic Act Prosecutor with the
Provincial Prosecutors Office before moving to the position
of Assistant Crown Attorney with the Office of the Crown
Attorney in 1988. He has appeared as a Criminal Prosecutor at all
levels of Trial Courts and has prosecuted numerous
homicides and other high profile indictable matters. In
October 2004 ,after 16 years as a senior crown attorney
he left the Attorney General's office to
join
McPhadden Samac Merner Barry.
His practice is restricted
to criminal and regulatory matters.
Mr.
Barry’s community involvement includes
having served
as chairman of the Attorney General's
United Way campaign, fundraiser for the
Children’s Wish Foundation, participant in the
Metropolitan Toronto Police Torch Run for charity, and
Chairperson of the Sunnybrook Stables Fundraiser for the
Canadian Olympic Equestrian Team. He
also
served as Chairperson of the 50th Anniversary of
Prosecutors, Ontario Crown Attorney’s Association (1996)
and as a co-organizer of the Annual Jack Hughes Memorial
Crown Attorney’s Baseball Tournament (1991-95).
Mr.
Barry is currently a member of the Criminal Lawyer’s
Association. He is a past director of the board of
the Ontario Crown Attorney’s Association (1990-2000),
and, in
particular, worked as Treasurer of the Association
(1994-95) and as a member of the Association’s Finance
Committee (1996-97). He has also served as a member of the
Toronto Mayor’s Task Force on Drugs (1995-98); a
director of the Board of Directors of
Variety Village; and a director of the Osgoode Hall Alumni
Association.
